Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal head into the North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon looking to boost their chances of finishing in the top six of the Premier League standings.

Although the Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw with Leicester City on Tuesday, it kept the club hot on the heels of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, despite Mikel Arteta's side extending their recent unbeaten record to five matches in all competitions, there are more selection issues facing the Spaniard as they prepare for Sunday's encounter.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the Gunners' latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest at their neighbours.

Nicolas Pepe

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Personal reasons
Possible return date: July 12 (vs. Spurs)

While Pepe has missed the last two matches due to his partner giving birth, the Ivory Coast international is expected to return to the squad for Sunday's potentially-pivotal clash.

Mesut Ozil

Possible return date: July 12 (vs. Spurs)

Ozil has continued to remain absent for the Gunners, with Arteta citing a minor back problem. While the playmaker may return to the squad on Sunday, he will not feature in the starting lineup.

Gabriel Martinelli

Mari is another Gunners player who will not return this campaign having suffered a significant ankle injury against Manchester City on June 17.

Another long-term absentee is Calum Chambers, who suffered a serious knee injury at the turn of the year. The defender is not due to return until the closing months of 2020.

Moments after his introduction on Tuesday night, Nketiah received a straight red card for a late challenge on James Justin. The forward will now serve a three-match ban, keeping him out of contention until July 21.
