Comcast announces that its Peacock streaming service will launch in the UK and across Europe via Sky later this year.

Sky owner Comcast has revealed plans to launch its Peacock streaming service in the UK and across Europe later this year.

The streaming service combines content from the NBC archives such as The Office and original commissions including Rutherford Falls and the Saved By The Bell reboot.

Peacock will be available for free to all of Sky's customers - including Now TV and Sky Ticket subscribers - in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.

"Peacock will be a great addition for Sky customers with over 7,000 hours of content at no additional cost," said Dana Strong, group CEO at Sky.

"This exceptional value add is another example of the great ways we are innovating to bring more benefits to our customers from the synergies across Sky, NBCUniversal, and Comcast Cable."

Peacock is expected to launch through third-party providers at a later date.
