Greg Davies is announced as the new host of Sky's revival of Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Sky is to bring back music panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks with The Inbetweeners star Greg Davies as its new host.

The comedy series ran on BBC Two for 28 series between 1996 and 2015 - first with Mark Lamarr as host, then Simon Amstell, with a series of guest presenters hosting for its final few years.

Last autumn Sky announced its intent to commission a new run of the show and now the broadcaster has confirmed an eight-episode series, plus a Christmas special.

Davies will take over hosting duties, while the team captains have been revealed as Noel Fielding and This Country's Daisy May Cooper.

"I have always loved Never Mind the Buzzcocks and am thrilled to be the new host on Sky," said Davies.

"We have brilliant comedic talent on the team and plenty of exciting musical guests will be joining us.

"All that being said, I'm so sure that no one reads these press quotes in their entirety that I'm going to finish by listing types of bread: rye, sourdough, sliced white. Oh, and cob."

The new series will be filmed in the coming weeks for broadcast in the autumn.
