A US version of Channel 4's competition series SAS: Who Dares Wins is reportedly in development.

The news of the project comes as former US Marine Rudy Reyes gears up to take over as chief instructor on the UK version as replacement for Ant Middleton, who left after a disagreement with producers.

A source told The Sun: "The show has been a huge hit on this side of the Atlantic, even spawning a celebrity spinoff which is just as popular as the civilian version.

"Australia and Sweden already have their versions, so taking it to another country is nothing new.

"Obviously, though, it may raise an eyebrow in the States where their elite military men and women are given training by the Marines.

"But there's a curious love of all things British in the US, which the creators hope to build on."

Called SAS: Who Dares Wins In America, the show does not yet have a known network attached.
