The BBC has confirmed that Race Across The World will return for its third series this winter after more than two years off the air due to COVID.
The show features pairs of contestants as they embark upon a cross-continent race with limited funds - and the rule that no air travel is permitted.
The new series, which will air on BBC One instead of BBC Two, will see the new group begin their epic journey on the Pacific coast in Vancouver, charged with making the 16,000 km trek across six time zones to St John's Newfoundland on the Atlantic coast.
The journey will see the five pairs take in "vast prairies, untouched wilderness and great lakes" in what is described as the "most extreme" series to date.
The BBC has also confirmed that the first ever celebrity edition of the show - announced just prior to the coronavirus pandemic - will finally enter production later this year.
