Charlene Douglas has joined the expert panel of Married At First Sight UK for its upcoming new series.

The new series of the unconventional dating show is adopting the long-form Australian version of the format and producers have also brought in one of the Australian experts, Mel Schilling, to work alongside Paul C Brunson as mentors for the couples.

Douglas is now also on board as the Sex and Relationship Expert and will help the couples with any issues relating to physical intimacy.

"I am delighted to be joining this new series of Married at First Sight UK," she said.

"This is a brand-new role for the show and it is important to remember that these couples have just met and are going to be getting to know each other quickly.

"I'm really looking forward to getting to know them all and digging deeper into their relationships and finding new ways for them to connect on a more intimate level.

"It's also really interesting to bring my knowledge alongside the expertise of Mel and Paul. As a trio, I think we will make a really great team."

The new series is currently being filmed and will air on E4 later this year.
