Netflix confirms that the third season of Heartstopper will be released in October.

Netflix has announced that season three of Heartstopper will be released on the platform at some point in October.

The acclaimed coming-of-age drama is an adaptation of Alice Oseman's graphic novels and has made stars of leads Joe Locke and Kit Connor.

Season three, which was filmed at the end of last year, will see Charlie (Locke) look to take his relationship with Nick (Connor) to the next level.

An official synopsis reads: "Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to say to Charlie.

"As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges.

"As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn't go to plan."
