ITV reportedly decides not to progress with a third series of Starstruck, despite the show's decent ratings.

ITV has reportedly decided against progressing with a third series of Starstruck, despite the show garnering decent ratings.

The format - essentially a modern-day update of Stars In Their Eyes - was hosted by Olly Murs and featured the likes of Adam Lambert and Shania Twain as the judges.

According to the Daily Star, the broadcaster is keen to try out a new format in 2024 but could yet bring the show back in 2025.

A source told the newspaper: "There were plans to film a new series this autumn and air it in 2024, but they have now been scrapped.

"The top bosses want to try a different show and see how it goes.

"Starstruck was popular, but it wasn't as big as shows like Britain's Got Talent and The Masked Singer, so it was always at risk of being sidelined for something else."

ITV has yet to officially confirm the news of Starstruck's axe.
