Channel 4 has announced the commission of a new four-part documentary series called Boris.
The show will explore the rise and fall of Boris Johnson, who swept to power as Prime Minister in 2019 but was forced to resign earlier this month following insurmountable pressure from his parliamentary party.
Archive footage will be complemented by interviews with those closest to him, "both his friends and enemies", to give insight into his political actions and ambitions.
"However the story of Boris Johnson's political career ends he has done more to change Britain and the nature of our politics than any other recent political figure," said Ian Katz, chief content officer at Channel 4.
"This landmark series will try answer the question of what shaped the boy who wanted to be king of the world and how he grew to believe that he could escape the laws of political gravity."
David Glover, executive producer for 72 Films, which previously made the acclaimed series The Trump Show for BBC Two, added: "This is a major project that we are about to embark on.
"It will not be polemical - but something that tells his story. We aim to make a series that both his supporters and enemies will find fresh and interesting."
The series is expected to air on Channel 4 later this year.
