The BBC announces a world-exclusive documentary examining the sex crime charges against porn star Ron Jeremy.

The BBC has announced details of an exclusive documentary looking at the sex crime charges against US porn star Ron Jeremy.

The 68-year-old, who appeared in more than 2,000 porn movies dating back to the late 1970s, was arrested last June on 34 individual charges relating to 21 different women spanning a period of decades.

Jeremy is accused of variously groping, assaulting and raping the women - all charges which he strongly denies - and is currently in prison awaiting trial.

In the documentary Ron Jeremy: Fall Of A Porn Icon, some of the accusers come forward to share their stories, including Ginger Banks, an adult performer whose 2017 allegations sparked the investigation.

"This is a story about the women who exposed Ron Jeremy, working against the grain of the adult industry and without the support of the mainstream media until very recently," said director Ben Bryant.

"All of the women we spoke to said that porn performers are rarely listened to when they call out rape and sexual assault. This film centres their experiences."

Ron Jeremy: Fall Of A Porn Icon is released on iPlayer on November 12.
