A third series of Amanda & Alan's Italian Job could instead take place in Portugal, according to Alan Carr.

Alan Carr has suggested that the next series of his home renovation show with Amanda Holden will take place in Portugal.

In the show, the pair spend a summer doing up a home in Italy that they have purchased for just one Euro - a scheme designed to encourage investment in small towns.

The first series took place in Sicily and the second - currently airing - is in Tuscany, but Carr says that a potential third series will not be in Italy.

"We've loved making two series of Amanda & Alan's Italian Job, but we're not doing a third there - we've done enough Italy now," he told The Sun.

"I had a great time performing stand-up in Lisbon recently, so maybe the plan could be to restore a house in Portugal."

Amanda & Alan's Italian Job continues Fridays at 8.30pm on BBC One.
