Joe Exotic submits a presidential pardon request to Donald Trump, alleging that he has been sexually assaulted in prison by staff.

Tiger King star Joe Exotic is sending a 257-page file to Donald Trump asking for a presidential pardon in order to secure his release from jail.

The 57-year-old is two years into a 22-year sentence for charges including animal cruelty and an alleged plot to kill his long-term rival Carole Baskin.

According to TMZ, Exotic included a letter personally pleading with Trump, writing: "I have been sexually assaulted by jail staff, beat up and tied in a chair to the point the skin came off my arms."

The documents claim that Exotic's threats to kill Baskin were "merely jokes" and that he euthanised some tigers as they were seriously ill, while he also alleges that he was imprisoned in part due to homophobic sentiments.

"Allow me to make you proud, to make America proud, to make the world proud. Be my hero please," he writes, at one point including the hashtag "#TrumpJr.2024".

The petition will be presented to the White House on Wednesday.
