The BBC reveals the 16 professional dancers who will be returning for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The BBC has named the 16 professional dancers returning for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Oti Mabuse and Aljaz Skorjanec had previously confirmed that they would not be returning in 2022, but otherwise, all of the professionals from 2021 have signed up to return.

The group includes Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Cameron Lombard, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, reigning champion Giovanni Pernice, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington and Nancy Xu.

Noticeably, Anton Du Beke is absent from the list, suggesting that his role on the judging panel last year as a stand-in for Bruno Tonioli could be made permanent.

"We could not be more proud of the Strictly professional dancers and we are so happy to have so many returning for 2022," said Strictly's executive producer Sarah James.

"The world-class skill and extraordinary care they bring to everything they do, from working with their celebrity partners to choreographing and performing remarkable and unforgettable routines, never ceases to amaze us.

"They really are the best in the business and we can't wait to see what they bring to the Strictly ballroom for our twentieth fabulous series."

Details of any new dancers joining the lineup will be announced in the coming months ahead of the new series launching in September.
