Spotify confirms that it has ended its deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to produce podcasts for the platform.

Spotify has confirmed that it has terminated its podcast deal with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle earlier than planned.

The deal - said to be worth $25m (£18m) - was signed in late 2020 and would have seen the Duke and Duchess of Sussex produce multiple podcast series for the audio platform.

The first, and ultimately last, project of note was a podcast called Archetypes, which ran for 12 episodes last summer and saw Markle speak to inspirational women such as Serena Williams and Mariah Carey.

A joint statement said: "Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together."

Separately, a spokesperson for the Duchess said that she intends to "develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform".
