Betty White confirms that she 'feels so good' as she prepares to celebrate her 100th birthday next month.

Betty White has given a rare interview confirming that she is in "good health" as she prepares to celebrate her 100th birthday next month.

The Hollywood legend - known for shows such as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls and Hot In Cleveland in a career stretching back to the 1930s - reaches the milestone birthday on January 17.

White has largely been absent from public view over the last two years as she shielded at home in California amid the coronavirus pandemic but is planning to host a party for the big occasion.

"I'm so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age," she told People magazine. "It's amazing."

Asked about the secret to her longevity, she replied: "I try to avoid anything green. I think it's working."

White's birthday next month will be marked by the release of a celebratory, celebrity-filled documentary film in cinemas around the US.
