BBC Radio 2 announces plans to broadcast 'Take That Day' on New Year's Day, including a countdown of their best ever songs as voted for by the public.

BBC Radio 2 has announced its first 'Take That Day', with five hours of programming dedicated to the iconic group this New Year's Day.

The special event - thrown to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the five-piece's first number one 'Pray' - will include a live countdown of the band's top 30 songs, as voted for by the public.

The programming will also include new and archive interviews with the group, as well as special contributions from Olly Murs and Sam Bailey.

Cat Deeley, who will host the countdown show, said: "I was a Take That fan back in the day and I'm a Take That fan today!

"So I can't wait to welcome the first day of 2023 live on Radio 2 by playing two hours of their hits, chatting to the listeners about their own Take That encounters and celebrating a brand new year together."

Other shows on the day include Take That at the BBC, a selection of their best performances over the years; and Robbie Williams: My Life Thru A Lens, featuring Williams in conversation with Scott Mills.
