Self-isolating Britney Spears: "My loneliness is saving me"

Britney Spears reworks her breakthrough hit '... Baby One More Time' to reference coronavirus.

Britney Spears has made a playful reference to her breakthrough hit '...Baby One More Time' in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Like most of the world, the 38-year-old is self-isolating at home in a bid to slow the spread of the disease, which has killed more than 83,000 people globally to date.

In a nod to '... Baby One More Time', which is one of the best-selling songs of all time, Spears posted a cartoon portrait of her dressed in her iconic schoolgirl look to Instagram.

In the image, the schoolgirl Spears is holding a bottle of hand sanitiser proudly in the air, while the caption "My loneliness is saving me" is scrawled next to her.

The 'Toxic' singer added the message: "Enough said. And thank you to all of the healthcare workers tirelessly working to keep us safe during this time!!!!"

The US has the most confirmed cases of coronavirus anywhere in the world, with over 400,000 testing positive.
