Liz Hurley pays tribute after Steve Bing's suicide

Liz Hurley posts a tribute to "sweet, kind man" Steve Bing following his death by suicide on Monday.

Liz Hurley has posted a moving tribute to her ex Steve Bing after the businessman's death by suicide yesterday.

The 55-year-old is thought to have jumped from the 27th floor of his apartment block in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon, with no reason yet known for his decision.

Bing fathered a child with Hurley, 18-year-old Damian Hurley, and as of 2018 had never met him, having initially denied that he was the father before being proved wrong by a DNA test.

Posting a series of throwback pictures of them as a couple on Instagram, Liz wrote: "I am saddened beyond belief that my ex Steve is no longer with us. It is a terrible end. Our time together was very happy and I'm posting these pictures because although we went through some tough times, it's the good, wonderful memories of a sweet, kind man that matter.

"In the past year we had become close again. We last spoke on our son's 18th birthday. This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their lovely messages."

Damian also took to Instagram, posting a picture of a sunset sky with the caption: "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has reached out following the devastating news. I'm trying to reply to as many of you as I can, but please know I will always remember your kindness.

"This is a very strange and confusing time and I'm immensely grateful to be surrounded by my phenomenal family and friends."

Bing, who was known in the entertainment industry for writing Kangaroo Jack and producing The Polar Express, was estimated to be worth around $590 million (£473 million) at the time of his death.
