Frasier star Peri Gilpin says reunion "in the works"

Frasier actress Peri Gilpin says that there is "a lot of talk" over a possible comeback for the hit comedy.

Frasier actress Peri Gilpin has claimed that there is "a lot of talk" over the show making a comeback.

The comedy, a spinoff from Cheers, ran for 11 seasons and followed Kelsey Grammer's titular character as he moved back to Chicago and began a new career as a radio talk show host.

Over the last year there have been rumours that the cast could reunite after 16 years for a one-off special or a fully-fledged series, and now Gilpin - Frasier's radio producer Roz - has confirmed that the idea is very much on the table.

"[A reunion] is possible. Definitely," Gilpin told Metro. "There is a lot of talk about it. I do think there's something going on, but I don't know exactly what it is or whether it will actually happen.

"But it's in the works. Do you know what I mean? That sounds like a big tease but I'm being teased too here!"

Frasier consistently drew high ratings across its run, peaking with almost 35 million viewers in 1996.
