Channel 4 picks up acclaimed comedy Ramy

Channel 4 picks up the UK rights to acclaimed comedy Ramy.

Channel 4 has announced that it has picked up the rights to Ramy, the acclaimed comedy drama starring Ramy Youssef.

The show, which airs on Hulu in the US, follows Youssef's titular character, a millennial Egyptian-American navigating the two sides of his politically-divided New Jersey community.

"We are thrilled to be showing Ramy on Channel 4 and All 4," said Nick Lee, head of series acquisitions.

"It has such a strong voice thanks to the outstanding talent on and off screen. It's funny, unique and utterly moving, we really think Ramy is what Channel 4 is all about."

The first season will air on Channel 4 starting Friday, February 5, with all episodes available on All 4 directly afterwards.
