Madonna is discharged from hospital after spending three days in intensive care for a serious bacterial infection.

Madonna has been discharged from hospital and is recovering well after suffering a serious bacterial infection.

Yesterday it was revealed that the Queen of Pop, 64, had been admitted to intensive care for three days on Saturday having suddenly fallen ill.

The singer's manager Guy Oseary had reassured fans that she is expected to make "a full recovery", and now BBC News says that she is already back at home in New York.

Prior to her hospitalisation, Madonna had been in the final throes of preparing for her seven-month Celebration world tour, which was due to begin in Canada next month.

The tour has now been postponed in its entirety until such a point that the star becomes well enough to reschedule the 84 dates.
