Chris Evans casts doubt on reports of new Marvel deal

Chris Evans distances himself from reports that he is about to sign a new deal to appear as Captain America in the MCU.

Chris Evans has suggested that reports claiming that he is on the verge of a return to the MCU are wide of the mark.

The actor played the iconic Marvel character Captain America in the franchise for the best part of a decade but appeared to exit the MCU in 2019's epic Avengers: Endgame.

Earlier today it was reported by Deadline that Evans has been in discussions about making a comeback as Cap for a mystery future project.

The publication claimed that "Evans became more game to the idea with the two sides coming to agreement at the top of the year" but taking to Twitter, Evans declared "News to me" followed by a shrugging emoji.

He later added: "Some of the gif responses are priceless... good work, everyone"

Evans will next be seen in Netflix's Don't Look Up, a comedy disaster movie that also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalamet and Jennifer Lawrence.
