The new series of Married At First Sight UK has begun with Geordie girl Nikita getting wed to Manchester businessman Ant.

The pair met for the first time when they walked down the aisle and it was clear from the off that the foul-mouthed Nikita was underwhelmed, telling the cameras that Ant was "fuck all what I go for".

"They've just done the total opposite of what I asked for," she said. "I mean, obviously I was talking about looks quite a lot. Looks is a huge thing for me and I don't think they've listened to what I said."

Later, after expressing her dislike of the model on top of the wedding cake, noting that she doesn't have "ginger fucking hair", she reiterated her unhappiness with her match.

"I'm disappointed, I'm not going to lie," she said. "I cannot shag him tonight, like."

Ant, meanwhile, was cautiously optimistic about his new wife, observing that they have "similar types of humour".

"I'm really laid back, she's the opposite," he said. "I think we might be a good match and balance each other out."

In a private moment at the reception, Nikita confessed her worries to her two best friends, telling them: "I'm not going to lie, I didn't get that instant spark. I don't want to sound big-headed but I think he liked us... but he's not my type."

Despite their own worries that Ant was not Nikita's type, her friends urged her to keep her mind open to trying something new.

Married At First Sight UK continues Tuesday at 9pm on E4.
