Iain Stirling expects Love Island to be "bigger than ever" in 2021

The voice of Love Island Iain Stirling hopes that the show will be able to return next summer "bigger than ever".

Love Island voiceover man Iain Stirling has predicted that the show will return "bigger than ever" next year.

This summer's edition of the ITV2 dating show was cancelled due to coronavirus, while the winter series planned for early in 2021 has also been called off.

Asked if the show would definitely be back next summer, Stirling told Lorraine: "I'm guessing. I'm the same as you, I don't really know what's happening with coronavirus and all the rest of it.

"But we're just hoping that next summer, we get to come back, bigger than ever, [with] lots of time away to make the show the best that it can be.

"[I've realised] how important events like Love Island are for structure in people's year and giving people a bit of joy, which is what we want to do."

Although the UK version was cancelled for 2020, the US version has gone ahead by relocating the show from Fiji to the penthouse of a Las Vegas hotel.
