5 celebrities with VIP hobbies

Regardless of what job a person does, they will most likely have at least one hobby that keeps them occupied when they are away from work.

Regardless of what job a person does, they will most likely have at least one hobby that keeps them occupied when they are away from work.

That point undoubtedly also applies to celebrities, especially as they have the financial means to fuel their particular passion.

In some cases, famous people indulge in hobbies that the rest of us mere mortals can only dream about or which are just completely off-the-wall.

With that in mind, we take a closer look at five celebrities who partake in what we classify as VIP hobbies.

Jennifer Tilly

Hollywood actress Jennifer Tilly has starred in numerous successful movies including the hilarious 1997 film Liar Liar starring Jim Carrey.

She is also a true VIP casino player having secured an elusive World Series of Poker bracelet by winning a No-Limit Texas Hold'em event in 2005.

Tilly was coached by her partner Phil Laak, who has also enjoyed plenty of success on the professional poker circuit.

The 64-year-old is still a regular at the tables and was recently inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame Class for 2022.

Barbra Streisand

It would be fair to say that some celebrities accrue more money than they know what to do with, which leads to them ploughing it into wacky hobbies.

That is certainly the case where the world famous American singer, actress and director Barbra Streisand is concerned.

The Oscar-winning star has splashed the cash to build herself a shopping in her own house, which comes complete with an antique clothing shop, a gift shop and a doll shop.

There is even a sweet shop which serves frozen yoghurt and popcorn to friends who she invites round for movie screening parties.

Gerard Pique

Once part of one of the most famous celebrity couples in the world alongside Colombian singer Shakira, the former Barcelona defender has had to find other things to do since they split.

He recently established the Kings League – an innovative football competition featuring Spanish-speaking online streamers, former professional footballers and internet celebrities.

The league even features a player who wears a Mexican wrestling mask and gloves during the matches to ensure the professional club he plays for cannot identify him.

Pique plans to launch an equivalent competition for female players, although it is unlikely to feature Shakira as one of the team owners!

Chris Evans

After building up a massive fortune during his career, English broadcaster and media mogul Chris Evans has ploughed plenty of it into his passion for expensive cars.

He famously spent £5.5 million on a Ferrari 250 California SWB in 2009 that had previously been owned by Magnificent Seven star James Coburn.

Evans went a step further the following year, splashing out a whopping £12m to purchase a stunning 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO.

Two years later he paid £500,000 to add the iconic car used in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie to his expansive collection.

Seth Rogen

Canadian-American actor, comedian and filmmaker Seth Rogen is not known for taking life too seriously, but that does not apply to his unexpected hobby.

Rogen is extremely talented at pottery, and has used his skill to set up a successful home products business called Houseplant.

He has a dedicated pottery studio at his home which has a kiln, three wheels and tiles for testing new glazes.

Most of the items designed by Rogen have a link to cannabis products, which he also sells in Canada and the United States under the Houseplant brand.
