Ryan Gosling is linked with a surprise guest role in a future episode of Doctor Who.

Hollywood star Ryan Gosling could reportedly appear in a future episode of Doctor Who.

The 42-year-old Barbie star is a huge fan of the long-running sci-fi series and recently had an excitable encounter with Ncuti Gatwa, who is taking over as The Doctor later this year.

Gatwa recalled: "I remember Ryan Gosling bounding up to my trailer like, 'Doctor Who is the coolest show in the world man! I'm the biggest fan.'"

According to The Sun, showrunner Russell T Davies has now followed that up with an offer to Gosling to cameo in the future.

"This would be a huge coup for the show, but also a real honour for Ryan who is something of a Whovian," a source told the newspaper.

"It's not clear yet what role he'd have, but the writers would tailor a character for him to play, if he could find the time in his packed schedule."

Filming on Gatwa's first series concluded earlier this year, meaning that a potential Gosling cameo would not be seen until the Christmas 2024 special or the 2025 series at the earliest.
