Lenny Rush joins the cast of Doctor Who playing a character called Morris in the new series with Ncuti Gatwa.

Lenny Rush is the latest casting announced for the new series of Doctor Who arriving in 2024.

Filming remains ongoing for Ncuti Gatwa's first full series as The Doctor, with Millie Gibson playing his new companion Ruby Sunday.

Jemma Redgrave and Bonnie Langford will be reprising their roles as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Mel Bush respectively, while previously-announced newcomers include Jinkx Monsoon, Indira Varma and Anita Dobson.

The latest to join them is Rush, a BAFTA-winner known for comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? who will play a character called Morris.

"This is what Doctor Who's all about, brand new talent from the next generation, and no one's more talented than Lenny!" said showrunner Russell T Davies.

"He joins the TARDIS team just in time for The Doctor's greatest nightmare, so hold on tight!"

Doctor Who returns this November with three special episodes featuring David Tennant as The Doctor, while Gatwa's first full episode will air over Christmas.
