Lisa George has quit her role as Beth Tinker on Coronation Street after 13 years, it has emerged.
The 51-year-old made her cobbles debut in 2011, being introduced as an ex of Steve (Simon Gregson), and has since settled down with fan favourite Kirk (Andy Whyment).
During her time on the show, Beth has been involved with storylines including the death of her niece Sinead (Katie McGlynn) and a recent plot that saw her slap youngster Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan).
A source told The Sun that George will bow out this summer, explaining: "Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she's had some great storylines.
"She's become a firm fan favourite with her comedy scenes but has had viewers sobbing in heartbreaking plots like Sinead's death.
"She loves Corrie and it's in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges.
"Beth's a larger than life character who's never shied away from a clash. Her exit will be as dramatic as she is."
As well as long-term boyfriend Kirk, Beth's other major connections on the street include son Craig (Colson Smith) and her Underworld colleagues including Izzy (Cherylee Houston) and Sean (Antony Cotton).
