Coronation Street's Colson Smith - aka Craig Tinker - reportedly signs up to take part in Celebrity Big Brother.

Coronation Street actor Colson Smith is reportedly in line to take part in Celebrity Big Brother when the show returns next week.

The broadcaster is keeping the names of those taking part under wraps until the actual moment they enter the house live during the launch show, although rumours have suggested that the likes of Louis Walsh, Levi Roots, Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Joey Essex are in the lineup.

According to The Sun, one of the housemates will be Corrie star Smith, 25, who has played the part of Craig Tinker since 2011.

A source told the newspaper: "Big Brother producers have been in talks with Colson for months and it looks like a done deal.

"They're thrilled he's keen to enter the nation's most famous house because he's a big name already loved by millions of viewers and they were hellbent of securing someone from Corrie as it's great cross-promotion for ITV.

"Colson's character Craig is a huge favourite with soap fans and he's just as likeable and down to earth in real life so don't be surprised if he ends up winning the whole thing. He's got all the ingredients of a Celeb BB champion."

Celebrity Big Brother launches next Monday, March 4 at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
