Liam Payne reveals that he recently enjoyed a "really lovely" catchup with One Direction bandmate Harry Styles.

Liam Payne has revealed that he has recently been in touch with One Direction bandmate Harry Styles for a "really lovely" catchup.

The hugely-successful boyband went on hiatus in January 2016 as the boys each pursued solo projects, with Styles forging out a career not only as a solo artist but also as a big-screen actor.

Rumours that the group could reunite last year to mark their 10-year anniversary ultimately proved fruitless, but Payne has admitted that he is still in regular contact with his bandmates.

"Yeah, I did speak to Harry, and it was really lovely," he said during a fan Q&A on Instagram Live. "He called me because he has a sixth sense for if I'm struggling or if one of us is in trouble, I feel like.

"I spoke to him and it was a really lovely catchup actually. And I've got a lot of love for the man. He's great, he's really, really great."

Styles is currently filming gay-themed movie My Policeman, while Payne is said to be working on his second solo album.
