WAP in close battle with Head & Heart for UK number one

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's 'WAP' is currently tracking at number one in the singles chart in what looks set to be a close battle with incumbent 'Head & Heart'.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's 'WAP' is currently leading the way in the UK singles chart, early sales figures from the Official Charts Company suggest.

The track, which has drawn controversy for its risque lyrics, is fewer than 80 chart sales ahead of Joel Corry and MNEK's 'Head & Heart' after the first 48 hours.

'Head & Heart' is the incumbent at the summit, having now spent six weeks at number one.

US rapper 24kGoldn's stealthily climb up the chart with 'Mood' continues due to TikTok and is currently tracking at five, up from 11 last week.

The highest new entry looks set to be Korean girl group Blackpink's collaboration with Selena Gomez, 'Ice Cream', currently at 12.
