Donald Trump to consider pardoning Joe Exotic

Donald Trump reveals that he will "take a look" at handing a presidential pardon to Tiger King's Joe Exotic.

President Donald Trump has revealed that he will "take a look" at Tiger King star Joe Exotic's request for a presidential pardon.

The 57-year-old is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence for animal cruelty and an alleged plot to murder his rival Carole Baskin, charges which were examined in the hit Netflix documentary.

Recently Exotic outlined plans to petition the President for a pardon to secure his release, an issue that Trump was quizzed on by a journalist at his daily press briefing.

"I know nothing about his 22 years so what did he do?" he asked, with the journalist responding: "Allegedly hired someone to murder an animal rights activist but he said that he didn't do that."

Smiling, Trump added: "Are you on his side? Are you recommending a pardon? I'll take a look."

The President's comments come after his son, Donald Trump Jr, described Exotic's sentence as "aggressive" while discussing the series on a radio show.
