Armie Hammer 'pulls out of Godfather series amid social media controversy'

Armie Hammer reportedly pulls out of playing the lead in a new series about the making of The Godfather.

Armie Hammer has reportedly pulled out of a planned role in The Offer, a new series about the making of The Godfather movies.

The 34-year-old was hit by a social media scandal earlier this month when several ex-girlfriends came forward with serious allegations that he had expressed desires for extreme sexual fetishes and cannibalism.

The Call Me By Your Name star branded the initial reports "bullshit" but has maintained a silence as further revelations have emerged.

Hammer has already pulled out of an appearance opposite Jennifer Lopez in the romcom movie Shotgun Wedding, and according to Variety, he has now decided not to continue with The Offer.

The 10-episode miniseries is in the works for streaming service Paramount Plus and Hammer had been due to play the lead role of Al Ruddy, producer of the 1972 movie.

Paramount and Hammer have yet to respond to the report.
