Jeremy Renner confirms that filming of the new Marvel spinoff series Hawkeye has finished ahead of the show's release on Disney+ later this year.

Jeremy Renner has revealed that shooting on the new Hawkeye spinoff series has finished.

The latest MCU series for Disney+ will be set in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame and follow Renner's titular character as he trains new recruit Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) to take over the 'Hawkeye' mantle.

Filming on the show - expected, but not confirmed, to run to six episodes - began in New York in December and ended this week, according to a post from Renner on Instagram.

"Bravo to everyone @marvel @disneyplus, our entire crew, stunt team @heidimoneymaker and amazing cast for all the hard work out into this show!!!" he wrote.

"We can't wait to share it. Thank you all for the incredible journey... #hawkeye"

Disney+ has yet to confirm an exact release date for the series, although it will premiere at some point in late 2021 following on from the big-screen release of Black Widow, which will introduce Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova - a character who will then carry over into Hawkeye.
