Made In Chelsea favourite Sam Thompson is named as new co-host of the Love Island companion podcast.

Former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson has been named as the new co-host of the Love Island companion podcast.

The ITV2 dating show returns for a new series later this month, with Maya Jama taking over from Laura Whitmore as the main host.

Thompson - a huge fan of Love Island - will host the daily podcast alongside former islander Indiyah Polack, while both will be regular guests on the Sunday night show Love Island: Aftersun on ITV2.

"It feels like I'm with my family and we're all in it together and I really like it," he said. "We're all massive fans of the show and it's really, really nice."

Mike Spencer, creative director at production company Lifted Entertainment, said: "I can't wait to hear what Indiyah and Sam will bring to both the podcast this year and Aftersun, alongside our fantastic new host Maya Jama.

"Sam and Indiyah have passion for the show, natural chemistry and all the chat so you can guarantee to be entertained every day!"

The first episode of the new series airs on Monday, January 16.
