Susanna Reid recalls the moment when Piers Morgan stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain earlier this year.

Susanna Reid has revealed that she had an "animated" discussion with Piers Morgan after he stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain earlier this year.

Morgan quit the breakfast show six months ago following the incident, which came as he argued with weatherman Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle's controversial tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.

"It felt surreal as Piers got up and left," Reid told the Daily Mail.

"I went out to talk to him; we had an animated discussion. I don't remember what I said, it's all a bit of a blur now, but back he came.

"I didn't think he'd really leave the show."

Last week TV regulator Ofcom gave its backing to Morgan over the furore after around 57,000 viewers lodged complaints.
