Davina McCall reportedly films a guest role on the Christmas episode of Doctor Who.

Davina McCall has reportedly filmed a guest part for this year's Christmas episode of Doctor Who.

The special episode will mark the full-length debut for Ncuti Gatwa, who is taking on the role of The Doctor, and Millie Gibson as new sidekick Ruby Tuesday.

According to The Sun, part of the plot will see Ruby appear on a genealogy show in order to track down her birth parents with the assistance of McCall, who hosts Long Lost Family for ITV.

"The Christmas special is a huge deal for the BBC - this year especially so, as it's Ncuti and Millie's first," a source told the newspaper.

"The Davina storyline is one element of the big festive episode on the table."

McCall previously guested on an episode of the show in 2005, providing the voice for a robotic version of herself called the Davinadroid.
