Tina O'Brien reportedly signs a new deal keeping her on Coronation Street as Sarah Barlow for at least another year.

Tina O'Brien has reportedly signed a new deal which will keep her on Coronation Street as Sarah Barlow for at least another year.

The actress has played the part since 1999 and has been regularly on the show for the last eight years, having taken a break from the role between 2008 and 2015.

O'Brien becomes the latest in a line of regular cast members to sign new deals, following on from the likes of Sally Dynevor (Sally), Bill Roache (Ken), Michael Le Vell (Kevin) and Jack P Shepherd (Sarah's younger brother David).

A source told The Sun: "Tina signed on for another year's contract and couldn't be happier.

"She sees Coronation Street as her home and loves playing Sarah.

"Everyone's really pleased and fans will be too."

Coronation Street continues Thursday at 9pm on ITV1.
