Big Brother: All-Stars cast revealed as new season begins

The 20th anniversary edition of Big Brother begins in the US with 16 former HouseGuests returning for a fresh shot at the top prize.

Sixteen former players re-entered the Big Brother game on Wednesday night as the 20th anniversary edition of the show began live on CBS.

The show's second All-Stars season - and the first in 14 years - is being staged in as coronavirus-safe an environment as possible, with each of the HouseGuests being tested for the disease multiple times before they were cleared to take part.

Live studio audiences have been axed, host Julie Chen has also been declared COVID-negative, and there will be extensive safety measures in place around all aspects of the production.

In the two hour-launch show, the 16 returning contestants were revealed to be:

- Bayleigh Dayton (Season 20, 11th place)
- Christmas Abbott (Season 19, 3rd place)
- Cody Calafiore (Season 16, runner-up)
- Daniele Briones (Season 8, runner-up; Season 13, 8th place)
- David Alexander (Season 21, 16th place)
- Da'Vonne Rogers (Season 17, 16th place; Season 18, 11th place)
- Enzo Palumbo (Season 12, 3rd place)
- Ian Terry (Season 14, winner)
- Janelle Pierzina (Season 6, 3rd place; Season 7, 3rd place; Season 14, 12th place)
- Kaysar Ridha (Season 6, 10th place; Season 7, 10th place)
- Keesha Smith (Season 10, 4th place)
- Kevin Campbell (Season 11, 3rd place)
- Memphis Garrett (Season 10, runner-up)
- Nicole Anthony (Season 21, 3rd place)
- Nicole Franzel (Season 16, 7th place; Season 18, winner)
- Tyler Crispen (Season 20, runner-up)

The first Head of Household competition saw Cody emerge victorious, but in a further twist, Julie teased a new room called 'the Safety Suite', which has the power to save two HouseGuests from the first elimination.

Big Brother: All-Stars continues Sunday night on CBS.
