Maria Sharapova eyes second Wimbledon title

Maria Sharapova reveals that she would "love" to win Wimbledon for a second time following her success at the French Open.

Maria Sharapova has revealed that she would "love" to win Wimbledon again following her success at the French Open.

The Russian clinched the title at Roland Garros for the second time in her career on Saturday with a three-set victory over Simona Halep.

Having triumphed at SW19 back in 2004, Sharapova now hopes to lift the Venus Rosewater Dish once more this summer.

"I'd love to win it again. It marked my career and I appreciate that moment so much," she is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"It came so unexpectedly yet 10 years later to be having five Grand Slams, to come back and still be playing and still have the energy and the passion to win more, that brings a lot of joy because I want to get better and I want to win more."

Wimbledon gets underway at the All England Lawn Tennis Club on June 23.
