Pat Cash believes that French Open champion Rafael Nadal is the one to beat at Wimbledon this year.

Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash believes that Rafael Nadal is the frontrunner for the men's singles crown at SW19.

The Spaniard, who was knocked out of the Grand Slam in the second round last year, heads into the tournament on the back of seven title wins in nine competitions.

"If you look at it on paper, Rafael Nadal has just won the French Open and has not put a foot wrong this year," Cash told BBC Radio Five Live.

"Last year, he won the French Open but at Wimbledon lost surprisingly in the second round and then disappeared for seven months with a bad knee.

"He has a really tough draw here. We're guessing of course, but he could play Roger Federer in the quarter-finals and then possibly Andy Murray. But if anyone can do it, Nadal can."

Nadal gets his Wimbledon campaign underway today with a first-round clash against Steve Darcis.
