Top seed Novak Djokovic has beaten Richard Gasquet in straight sets in the second semi-final of this year's China Open.
The Serb broke his opponent's serve four times before securing a 6-4 6-2 victory inside 81 minutes.
He now faces Rafael Nadal, who will replace him as world number one regardless of the result in Sunday's final in Beijing.
Djokovic won 69 of 122 points against Gasquet, who had overcome Florian Mayer, Bernard Tomic and David Ferrer en-route to the last four.
