Britain's Cameron Norrie defeats the USA's Tommy Paul 6-4 4-6 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters for the first time.

British number two Cameron Norrie booked his place in the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters with a three-set victory over the USA's Tommy Paul.

Norrie had previously defeated Paul's compatriot Tennys Sandgren II and Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut to reach the last 16, where he would take the first set 6-4 against Paul.

The American would fight back to take the second set 6-4 before Norrie stormed to a 6-2 victory in the deciding set, which saw him advance to a Masters 1000 quarter-final for the first time ever.

Speaking to the press following his triumph, Norrie said: "I was just pleased to be through. Not really playing my best but fighting hard and competing as hard as I can. I'm actually, in the big moments, serving well."

The 6-4 4-6 6-2 triumph against Paul was Norrie's 44th ATP Tour win this year, and the 26-year-old will now face Argentina's Diego Schwartzman for a spot in the semi-finals.
