British number one Cameron Norrie bows out of the Indian Wells Masters with a 4-6 4-6 defeat to the USA's Frances Tiafoe.

The last Briton left standing at the Indian Wells Masters, Cameron Norrie, bowed out in the quarter-finals to the USA's Frances Tiafoe in straight sets on Wednesday.

The world number 12 suffered a 4-6 4-6 loss as Tiafoe reached the first Masters 1000 semi-final of his career, ending the British singles representation in California in the process.

Norrie, who won the Indian Wells title in 2021, was broken in the seventh game of the first set before Tiafoe clinched his first set point in an otherwise cagey opening.

The second set was a much more open affair by comparison, as the pair traded breaks in the first two games before Tiafoe broke twice more for a 5-2 lead, thus allowing himself the chance to serve for a place in the semi-finals.

However, Norrie refused to throw in the towel and earned one break back before holding to love to stay alive, but Tiafoe responded with a comfortable love hold of his own to advance to the final four.

Norrie's elimination follows last-16 exits for Emma Raducanu, who lost in straight sets to Iga Swiatek, and Jack Draper, who retired injured from his match against Carlos Alcaraz.

Either Daniil Medvedev or Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will await Tiafoe - who is yet to drop a set at Indian Wells Garden - in the semi-finals.
