Tony McCoy is targeting 4,000 career wins after collecting his 18th consecutive jockey's championship for this season.

Tony McCoy has claimed that his next target is to ride 4,000 winners, after picking up his 18th consecutive championship at the end of the National Hunt season.

The 38-year-old, who is still recovering from a fall at the Cheltenham Festival, won there this year to add to his Betfair Hurdle win earlier in the season.

He admitted that he still needs to recover from his injuries, but is already targeting more winners next season.

"I want to make 4,000 winners," said McCoy. "I think I've got 125 to go, and then hopefully win another jockey's championship.

"My first target was to get out of hospital as quickly as possible and get back to riding.

"I got a very heavy fall, bruised my chest and I was very sore. I won't be back riding for at least two or three weeks."

McCoy also paid tribute to JP McManus and Jonjo O'Neill, whom he rides for.
