Sir Elton John has reportedly filmed a guest appearance on the new series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

The third series of the BBC Three show was filmed earlier this year, with RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton all returning as regular judges alongside weekly celebrity guest judges.

According to the Daily Star, Elton is a huge Drag Race fan and although he was unable to travel to the set because of coronavirus, he did manage to appear via video link for one of the challenges in the new series.

"Elton is a massive fan of RuPaul and the show, so he was keen to be part of the new series," a source told the newspaper.

"To say producers were thrilled to get him to sign up would be a massive understatement. They couldn't believe their luck.

"Plenty of rival reality shows have never secured a guest this big."

The new series is due for release via BBC Three later this year.
