Sunderland boss Gus Poyet part of ITV's World Cup punditry team

Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet is included in ITV's punditry team for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet will be one of 16 former players on ITV's punditry team for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

Adrian Chiles, who regularly hosts live football for the broadcasters, will anchor 34 games during the tournament in South America.

Ex-Uruguay international Poyet will appear throughout the coverage, as will Glenn Hoddle, Ian Wright, Roy Keane, Patrick Vieira, Lee Dixon and Scotland manager Gordon Strachan.

According to the Daily Star, the all-male lineup has sparked sexism concerns, but an ITV spokesman has responded by saying: "Whenever opportunities arise to bring in new people for ITV Sport, our aim is always to get the best we can."

ITV reporter Gabriel Clarke, presenter Matt Smith and commentators Clive Tyldesley and Sam Matterface will also be part of the broadcaster's coverage.
