Sir Alex Ferguson sends message to Eamonn Holmes

Sir Alex Ferguson wishes TV presenter Eamonn Holmes good luck as he prepares to undergo double hip surgery.

Sir Alex Ferguson has sent a video message to TV presenter Eamonn Holmes ahead of his upcoming double hip surgery.

The legendary Manchester United manager told the This Morning host that he had previously undergone the same operation and made a full recovery.

"I believe you're going in for the big op on your hips. I had mine done two and a half years ago and now I'm in great condition," Ferguson said.

"I did all my exercises, listened to the doctor and the physios. If you do that, you'll be back 100%, back on that couch mooching with Ruth. Good luck, talk soon."

Holmes admitted that he had been 'inspired' to undertake the operation after being impressed with Ferguson's sprightliness in the stands during a recent game at Old Trafford.
