Jesy Nelson pulls out of a performance at this weekend's HITS Radio Live event in Birmingham after testing positive for coronavirus.

Jesy Nelson has been forced to withdraw from this weekend's HITS Radio Live event in Birmingham after she tested positive for coronavirus.

The singer was due to take to the stage for her first live gig since becoming a solo artist but now must self-isolate as per COVID rules.

"After feeling unwell for the last few days I've sadly tested positive for COVID," Nelson told The Sun.

"I'm now self-isolating, following government guidelines. It means I'm no longer able to perform at Hits Radio Live In Birmingham this Saturday.

"Apologies to any of my fans who bought tickets and I'm so sorry I can no longer be there. I hope you all have an amazing night, stay safe and I can't wait to see you all soon love you all so much."

Nelson is still expected to perform at next month's Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball as planned.
