The Premier League is expected to at least double the amount it generates from its US broadcast rights as it gears up to sign a new deal.
Coverage of football's most popular domestic league has sat with NBC since 2013, an arrangement which has made the sport available in the vast majority of households in the US.
However, the ever-increasing popularity of the Premier League internationally means that the next rights package will have a value of at least double - and possibly triple - the current $150m (£109m) a season paid by NBC.
According to Bloomberg, the Premier League is preparing to hold an auction for the next set of rights, which begin with the 2022-23 season and are expected to cover a six-year period.
The publication says that in addition to NBC, Disney-owned ESPN, WarnerMedia and ViacomCBS are expected to enter the fray, while Amazon could also be tempted to get involved.
ESPN recently paid $175m (£127m) a season for the rights to Spain's La Liga - an ostensibly inferior product - so the Premier League is expecting to raise at least $300m (£218m) in a deal that could be worth a mammoth $2 billion (£1.4 billion) in total.
While still huge, the projected value of the US rights is still dwarfed by their value in the UK, where Sky, BT and Amazon pay a combined £1.6 billion per season.
